The Central park is a very relaxing area with lakes and good walking.
Overall, violent crime is virtually nonexistent. There is some property crime, which is the same anywhere you go. It is exacerbated by the fact that the historically blue collar neighborhoods are being encroached upon by upscale housing developments. Whenever you have an income disparity between neighbors, property crime follows.
Fremont is a crowded and bedroom community as it is easily accessible to the BART, buses and freeways to work areas.
Problem is 880 is very very slow at any time of the day.

Fremont is made up of 5 separate districts which used to be a separate little towns before they got together and formed Fremont. Newark was also asked to join and declined. So there is a hole where Newark stands now.
The closer you get to the foothills and the farther away from the bay that you get is generally better with Niles and Mission San Jose being the best.
The best neighborhoods are in the south and east sides of town.

A traditionally blue collar neighborhood with a quaint historic district, however now its hillsides attract good housing.

For a middle class neighborhood, Ardenwood is one of the popular choices for people moving to the area. It has a wide range of diverse cultures and about 21% are between 35-44 years of age. Warm Springs in South Fremont - No.4
Warm Springs in south Fremont, and it's an excellent neighborhood, part of Irvington.
In the south part of Fremont with Interstate 880 on the west, Interstate 680 on the east side and a new BART Station it is convenient to shopping and downtown. 10,000 plus residents have an average commute time of 28 minutes. It has a mix of condos, town homes and single family residences with estimated value of $1,100,000 and rents averaging $1820 per month, depending on what you are looking for. It is considered a very family friendly neighborhood with good schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade and parks. Average income is $125,000 with executive, white and blue collar jobs and a rich diverse population. The Great Mall near I-680 offers a variety of shopping and Restaurants like Piatti's and Red Robin Burger along with many enticing ethnic options. Northwestern Polytechnic University is located in the Warm Springs area.
