  • Inventor, Edward Tufte, sparklines are “data-intense, design-simple, word-sized graphics”. They are intended to be used in line with text, Rather than giving you a single data-point, sparklines give you a context and an enormous amount of information can be presented in a very small area. Sparklines aren’t limited to line graphs or bar-charts – they are any graph or graphic showing a story of your data in the space of a word.

eBG Problems in Interpreting - std deviation

iPhone. "Pancreum" has an A1c converter that does give me a close approximation. My last two A1c test at the Dr was within .1 of the results I had. I also use an app from dLife to track my BS daily tests. It will also give me a 7,14, 30,and 90 day average that I can plug into the converter to get the A1c approximation. I don't know if these are available on the computer since the iPhone is my way of constantly tracking my tests as well as my food log.

Understanding A1C

AIC is 3mo > Yes they are right its a three month average. When I was diagnosed the doctor scheduled me for a test one month later. I kept my numbers really low for that month as I now knew I was diabetic. On the one month mark my alc was something like 7.4 if I remember correctly, however my daily readings had me in the 5's. I had to remind my doctor it was a snapshot of two months without a diet of meds and one month on. The reason for this is that the life span of a blood cell is approximately 90 days. Each cell stores what ever damage it has during its life span. Your better reading only changes that for the new cells developed not the older ones .There are charts but it can not really be accurate for the reasons mentioned
